Beginning therapy is a big decision.

Once made, the journey can give you a new sense of direction gained from the exploration of where you came from, how you got here, and where you want to go.

This exploration can be daunting, and feel so hard to even make the first step. What might help?  Having a supportive and trusted person to go on this journey with you.

Human connection is one of the primary tenants of life.  I used to think therapy was magic. And that if I had just the right tools I could “heal” or “fix” a client. Of course these things are super helpful, AND, what we know, what research proves – is that the connection with your therapist is what matters most; that is what makes therapy successful.

You must find a therapist you connect with.

This is what we will work together on first in our individual therapy sessions – finding a sense of connection, between you and I.  From there we will become explorers, observers and creators together – with an end goal being that you have a sense of heightened empowerment and self-awareness; along with an expanded toolset to continue to help you traverse the landscape of your life’s journey outside of, and beyond, therapy.

Other things I’d like you to know about how I will support you in your individual counseling sessions:

We will look at the whole self.

I hold in mind that we are intricate beings, and that means the mind, body, and spirit connection is important and honored.

No matter what brings you here, you are the answer.

We will cultivate an increased self confidence born out of genuine compassion, curiosity, empathy and love for yourself.

I will meet you where you are at with much warmth, curiosity and presence.

I believe that there is your pace, process and timing for the work you’re willing and able to do in therapy. I will meet you where you are at, and stay with you on your journey for as long as therapy together is supportive to you. For some this may mean only a few sessions. For others, it may mean touching in and out of therapy for years.

There is a balance in our work together of being with whatever arises, and learning and practicing new tools to help support change.

Clients that are willing and able to do work in between sessions usually find that to be very helpful to their growth. Therapy is in part about behavior change, which comes down to neural networks needing to be rewired. This simply takes effort and discipline to create change.

Personalized therapy, for the unique you

I am committed to listening to and honoring your story, and to helping you rewrite it as you are ready.

There are pieces to everyone’s story that either do not need to be changed or cannot be changed.

But if you are seeking therapy, you are aware on some level that something in your life is not working for you.

You might need a listening ear and someone to be with you as you are with acceptance and strength for your journey.

Or you might be ready to dig deeper – to work on changing patterns that no longer serve you by integrating your past into your present with compassion and clarity so that a different future is possible.

By telling your story, healing can begin.

Areas I can support you in:

Anxiety & Depression

Many of us experience anxiety and/or depression at some point(s) in our lives. Sometimes it becomes persistent. Therapy is an effective way to develop tools to treat the symptoms, while also digging deeper to see what root causes there may be.

Grief & Loss

I am a firm believer that American culture is horrible with grief and loss. Therapy can be a safe container to experience one’s grief. Together we will be curious about your grief, allow it to arise as it needs to, be with it, stay with it and allow it to move and shift and change. We will also find ways to help support you in between sessions.

Trauma

Trauma is quite the buzz word these days, and for good reason. I believe most of us experience trauma at points in our lives. Trauma is defined as one’s emotional response to a distressing event. Many times we are able to move through a traumatic experience without therapy. Other times trauma can become stuck in our brain and body when it’s not processed through, when we haven’t had adequate support to help digest our experience, and/or when we’ve carried the trauma(s) with us for an extended amount of time. Using a somatic approach, we’ll work to move through your trauma in session, while creating ways to work with it outside of session.

Life Changes

This is what it means to be human. We all go through life changes. Growing up; moving; investigating who we are, where we came from and/or what we’re up to; or starting or ending something (school, a job, a career, a relationship). Therapy can be a place to help support your explorations and your various selves through life changes.

Seperation & Divorce

Perhaps you find yourself in the place of separation and/or divorce from your partner. I am here to help you navigate the in-between space of taking next steps of ending a relationship, so you can begin something new.

Dating

Together in therapy we’ll support, explore, and be with as you experience yourself in relationship with others. Dating can be a time of excitement and frustration, and everything in between. I hold in mind that relationships and dating are not for the faint of heart, and that the experiences are well worth the time, effort, potential loss and pain, and potential joy and love as you grow deeper into your authentic self. We will explore your joys and growth edges, and bring conscious awareness to your relationship patterns and choices.

Parenting

Parenting can be a time of rich self-reflection, growth and change. I view our children as one of our greatest teachers in this lifetime, if we allow them to be. However, we may bump against the thought that we will never be like our parents yet find ourselves acting like them. Parenting dynamics continue through generations until someone makes a conscious choice to do it differently. In therapy we’ll create a safe enough space for you to name and explore generational patterns, discern what you want to continue, release what doesn’t work, and find ways to pattern new thoughts, beliefs and actions.

Empath Support

For those that feel all the feels! Empathy can be your superpower with the help of tools to protect your energetic space and boundaries so you’re not taking on others’ emotions.

Mindfulness & Spirituality

I hold much curiosity about mindfulness and spirituality. How can we be in the present moment? What supports us, nourishes us, and resources us as we move through daily life? I find mindfulness practices and spirituality as a way to help us do those things. In our work together, we can talk about what supports you now and what you may be willing to try to support you in tuning into yourself more.

Pregnancy & Postpartum

Therapy is a place to support you, your mood, and your relationships as you navigate your pregnancy and postpartum journey. PMADs (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders) are one of the most common complications with pregnancy and childbirth, so you are not alone if you’re experiencing one.

My Approach

Let me be honest – refreshingly and authentically real with you.  You will find no quick fixes here.  I do not offer the “life hacks” to get things back on track IMMEDIATELY.  I cannot tell you the “five things” you must do to be happy RIGHT NOW.

Together we will create a nourishing container to invite a new way to be with yourself. A space for you to learn how to allow, surrender, and accept. You might feel broken open, but we will find tools that work for you to feel resourced in the transformation.

My work is individual and unique. I meet with you.  We nurture our unique relationship, we’ll co-create new tools and ideas together, so you can find what works for you. This work will be translatable within and around you, throughout all of your life paths.

Next Steps

Taking that first step to contact a therapist is a big one. You may feel scared or uncertain about reaching out and asking for help. It takes strength and courage to advocate for yourself and your needs. Research has shown that one of the most important factors for successful therapy is the fit between client and therapist. In other words, you need to feel comfortable with your therapist and you need to “connect” with him/her. I offer a free 30 minute remote consultations so we can find out if we’re a good fit. I look forward to hearing from you.

Book Your Sessions

Once we decide that we would like to work together, let’s get some time on our calendars!

Meeting Your Goals

It’s important to me that we are making progress in our time together.

Individual Session Pricing

I like to be upfront about cost and payment expectations for your therapy. I accept cash, check or credit card and payment is expected at time of service.

Individual sessions are $170 for 60 minutes.

I accept Kaiser insurance. I will check your insurance to verify your benefits and check any co-pay status. I do not accept any other insurance plans. For other insurance plans, I can provide you with a receipt for you to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement as an "out of network" provider. Depending on your health insurance plan, this can be a great way to receive some reimbursement.

If cost is a barrier to you, let me know. I reserve a limited number of reduced fee slots. Please reach out via email or phone before your scheduled meet and greet to let me know if you will need a reduced fee.  This will allow me to look at my current caseload to see if that's possible.  If so, we will talk about your financial and therapeutic needs and create a payment plan together that works for all of us.  If not, I can offer you referrals to other reduced fee options.  Please don't hesitate to ask!

Good Faith Estimate

* You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost

Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have  insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical  items and services.

• You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

• Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

• If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

• Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate,  visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call the Colorado Division of Insurance at  303-894-7490 or 1-800-930-3745.
